To better understand the perspective of witness testimonies for the Odalisque project, I attended National Day of Action To Support Sex Workers, in Allan Gardens, Toronto on June 9, 2013.  Sex workers are demanding that sex work (prostitution) be decriminalized to protect the health and safety of sex workers, they are challenging the stereotype that sex work isn’t “real work” – when it is, and that sex workers should be afforded the same basic human rights as any other person (which they aren’t).

The Odalisque project is an installation documentary (photo and video) that gives sex workers a voice.
